Is MP Estate Planning a law firm?

No. MP Estate Planning UK Ltd is an estate planning consultancy. It is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority or any other approved legal regulator. Where work for a client requires an SRA-regulated solicitor — for example, the drafting of a will or trust deed, or the giving of regulated legal advice — the Company works with Feakes & Co Ltd, a firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA number 654837).

Is MP Estate Planning regulated by the FCA?

No. MP Estate Planning UK Ltd is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. The Company does not provide regulated financial advice. The authorised status of any adviser can be verified free of charge on the FCA Register.

Does MP Estate Planning give tax advice?

The Company provides general information about how UK inheritance tax operates in 2026/27 — including the nil-rate band, the residence nil-rate band, transferable allowances between spouses and civil partners, and the seven-year rule for lifetime gifts. The Company does not provide specialist tax advice. Does MP Estate Planning draft wills?

The Company itself does not draft wills. Where a will is to be drafted, that work is carried out by an SRA-regulated solicitor (Feakes & Co Ltd, SRA number 654837). The Company’s role in relation to wills is to discuss the client’s circumstances in the initial consultation and to co-ordinate the introduction to the solicitor firm if the client wishes to proceed.

Does MP Estate Planning act as trustee?

No. The Company does not act as trustee on client trust arrangements. Where a trust is being considered, the Company provides general information about how trusts operate under English and Welsh law. The trust deed itself is drafted by the SRA-regulated solicitor firm. The trustees named in the trust deed are chosen by the client and may be individuals known to the client (such as family members or trusted friends) or, where appropriate, a professional trustee firm regulated for that work.

What does an initial consultation involve?

An initial consultation is a general discussion in which the Company seeks to understand the client’s family circumstances, the assets they hold, and what they would like to happen on their death. No advice (legal, tax or financial) is given, and no documents are signed, during an initial consultation. Initial consultations are offered at no charge and there is no obligation on a prospective client to instruct the Company at the end of the consultation.

How does the Company charge?

The Company generally charges a flat fee for its consultancy services. Fees are disclosed in writing in advance. The fees of any regulated firms involved in a client matter — for example, the SRA-regulated solicitor firm or any FCA-authorised adviser — are charged separately by the relevant regulated firm. Initial consultations are at no charge.
